Arsenal take on Newcastle United in the Premier League at St James’ Park.
The Gunners dropped points in their last league game. They were held to a 2-2 draw by Arne Slot’s Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal should’ve won that game, but the draw last week makes the clash at Newcastle all the more important for Mikel Arteta and his men.
Ahead of the game, Arsenal are really annoyed with the referee’s association after finding out what they have done for the fourth time in 10 games.
Why Arsenal are ‘unhappy’ with PGMOL ahead of Newcastle United clash
Arsenal have been on the wrong end of several refereeing decisions this season.
From the red cards to Declan Rice, Leandro Trossard and William Saliba to several other fouls on Arsenal’s players ignored by the referees, things haven’t been great.
The same fixture last season was filled with controversy because of a few awful calls from the referee. Now, ahead of the game, the officials are once again making the headlines.
The PGMOL have announced that Jarred Gillett will be on VAR duty for Arsenal’s game against Newcastle United on Saturday.
The Australian has already been involved in three of the Gunners’ first nine league games. This appointment makes it four in 10, which really doesn’t make sense.
The Mirror reveal that Arsenal are ‘unhappy’ with the PGMOL’s decision to appoint Gillett once again in the Premier League.
The last time he was involved, Saliba was sent off and Arsenal suffered their only defeat of the season – a 2-0 loss at Bournemouth.

Jarred Gillett has made multiple mistakes while officiating Arsenal games
Gillett is no stranger to Arsenal games.
In the opening game of the season against Wolves, the Australian decided against showing a red card to Yerson Mosquera even though he clearly grabbed Kai Havertz by the neck.
Last season, in the defeat against Aston Villa that eventually resulted in Arsenal missing out on the Premier League title, Gillett did not award a penalty after a foul by Douglas Luiz on Gabriel Jesus inside the box.
He also ruled out a goal from Havertz for handball in the same game – Arsenal fans were furious with both decisions.
Arsenal face Newcastle United at lunchtime on Saturday and fans will be praying that Gillett will not be the reason for any headlines.
