After the controversy that unfolded against Liverpool, Arsenal fans are unhappy with PGMOL once again.
The Gunners were denied a late winner against Arne Slot’s side, as Anthony Taylor blew the whistle for a questionable foul.
Mikel Arteta was left speechless by Taylor’s decision, which resulted in Arsenal settling for a point from the top-of-the-table clash.
While focus is currently on the midweek action in the EFL Cup, some thought will be placed on the North Londoners trip to St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon.

Premier League officials named for Arsenal’s clash with Newcastle United
After picking up a point from their previous two Premier League games, Arsenal will be desperate to get back on track against Newcastle United.
The Gunners will travel to the North East determined to take three points back to the capital however, Arteta’s side will face a familiar foe.
PGMOL named the officials for match day 10 of the season, with Jarred Gillett to take charge of VAR for Arsenal’s clash with the Magpies.
John Brooks will officiate the game on-field but it’s Gillett’s inclusion that has Gooners far and wide talking.
Arsenal fans react to Jarred Gillett news
Gillett was a villain in Arsenal’s first defeat of the campaign, calling for Rob Jones to review William Saliba’s foul, leading to the Frenchman being sent off.
Fans haven’t forgotten what Gillett did that evening on the South Coast although, there’s more of a concern at the frequency that the Gunners are dealing with the official.
When the Australian takes charge of VAR at St James’ Park, it will represent the fourth time in 10 games that the referee has been assigned to an Arsenal game in some capacity.
“This Gillett as ref/VAR for 40% of the first 10 games is getting ridiculous now,” one concerned Arsenal fan said.
Others joked at how many games the referee has been to this season, “He’s been to more Arsenal games than I have over the last three seasons.”
“No wonder he was able to get Bournemouth away. He’s got maximum credits,” another supporter joked.
Some fans took a more concerned look at Gillett’s involvement with Arsenal this season, “This is beyond a joke. Jarred Gillett the Liverpool fan on VAR AGAIN?”
“Jared Gillett again? I cannot get on board the conspiracy train, but there is undoubtedly a lot of questionable stuff that goes on around Arsenal.”
“Gillett bro, leave us alone,” a supporter begged, with another admitting that it’s ‘incredible’ how many times the Australian has dealt with the Gunners in 2024/25.
“We’re at the point where we might as well put Gillett on an Arsenal retainer. Quite incredible how often he’s on our games.”
The main concern of course is how Gillett treated Arteta’s side whilst on VAR at Bournemouth, sending Saliba off for a controversial matter.
