While Arsenal may not be likely to lift the Premier League title come May, they are on the brink of achieving something else.
The Gunners sit 12 points adrift of league leaders Liverpool with nine games to go, and Mikel Arteta’s team are subsequently turning their attention toward the Champions League.
Real Madrid await Arsenal in the quarter-final of Europe’s elite competition, in what will be a momentous occasion for the North London club.
However, before that tie, Arteta’s side host Fulham and travel to Merseyside to take on Everton in the Premier League – two games that give them a chance to do something they haven’t managed for 17 years.

Arsenal can secure finish above Tottenham in early April
While silverware is never guaranteed at the Emirates, Arsenal fans do have something else to celebrate almost every season.
‘St Totteringham’s day’ marks the day in which bitter rivals Tottenham can no longer mathematically finish above Arsenal in the table.
After a run of six straight seasons without this day for the Gunners faithful to cherish between 2017 and 2022, Arteta’s outfit are on the cusp of enabling the celebration for a third consecutive campaign.
Last season, Arsenal beat Spurs 3-2 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, marking the 2024 iteration of St. Totteringham’s day.
This year, as a result of Ange Postecoglou’s teams woes, St Totteringham’s day could come early.
The maximum number of points Tottenham can now finish with is 61, a total Arsenal are just three points off reaching.

Thus, two wins in their next two games would guarantee the Gunners finish above their North London neighbours, while four points would also do it.
However, St Totteringham’s day could even come earlier than 5th April – when Arsenal take on Everton – as Spurs take on Chelsea on the 3rd, knowing any slip up at Stamford Bridge may seal the celebratory day.
If the deal is sealed on the 5th, however, it’ll be the earliest Arsenal have experienced a St. Totteringham’s day since the 2007/08 campaign, when the day was celebrated on the 9th March – the earliest ever.

The history of St. Totteringham’s Day
The first ever St Totteringham’s Day came in 1911, which was just the second season Arsenal and Tottenham were both in the English top flight.
Since then, Arsenal have finished above Spurs 53 times in the first division, with the Lillywhites managing the reverse just 34 times.
| Total | |
| St. Totteringham’s days | 53 |
| No St Ts as Spurs not in league | 15 |
| No St Ts as Spurs above Arsenal | 34 |
| No St Ts as Arsenal not in league | 2 |
The Gunners have secured St Totteringham’s day in the final match of the season ten times, with the most recent being in the 2015/16 campaign, when Spurs collapsed away at already-relegated Newcastle.
The longest gap between Arsenal finishes above Tottenham came between 1935 and 1953, although seven seasons in that period were lost to the second World War.
