The second stage of the Champions League knockout rounds are over and just eight teams remain in with a chance of winning the trophy this season.

Arsenal are among those to have reached the quarter-finals for this year, looking to go further than previous years with possible victory.

The Gunners reached this point by beating PSV Eindhoven in the round of 16, with a 7-1 thrashing at the Phillips Stadion followed by a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium, ending as a 9-3 on aggregate.

With victory secured and a place in the Champions League quarter-finals now confirmed, Mikel Arteta and his coaching staff can start to put plans into place for the next round.

Who do Arsenal play in the Champions League quarter-finals?

After getting past PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League round of 16, Arsenal are in the final eight of the competition.

The Gunners will now take on Real Madrid, who managed to get past Atletico Madrid in the previous round.

The first leg at the Bernabeu ended with a 2-1 win to the home side before the Rojiblancos struck back with a 1-0 win of their own after 90 minutes.

It went to extra time and penalties at the Wanda Metropolitano, where VAR controversy struck in the shootout.

A slip from Julian Alvarez saw his spot kick disallowed, though momentum swung again as a following penalty from Real Madrid was saved.

Marcos Llorente then hit the underside of the bar, meaning Antonio Rudiger sealed a place in the quarter-finals for Real Madrid.

When do Arsenal play Real Madrid?

The Champions League quarter-final dates have now been confirmed.

The first leg will be played at the Emirates Stadium, taking place on either the eighth of April.

As for the second leg, Arsenal will be away from home with the match taking place on the 16th of April.

How to get tickets for Arsenal vs Real Madrid

Arsenal have revealed that a ballot is required for fans to get tickets for the clash with Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals.

That ballot runs from March 17th until March 20th, with the club confirming that certain memberships won’t be able to purchase it if they were bought after a certain date.

A statement from Arsenal reads: “Fans who purchase an Arsenal membership after Monday, March 3, 2025, will not be permitted to purchase tickets for this game.

“Anyone who enters a ballot for this match with a membership that is purchased after the embargo date, whether as an individual or as a group will have their whole ballot application invalidated.

“We have made this decision following consultation with the relevant authorities and to ensure we are in line with crowd segregation requirements.”

Who can Arsenal face in the Champions League semi-finals?

If Arsenal manage to make their way past their quarter-final opposition, then they will face off with one of a few teams.

The other half of their bracket includes PSG, who knocked out Liverpool, and Aston Villa, who beat Club Brugge to reach the final eight.
