Arsenal have already been diligent on the contract front this year, Edu agreed renewals for all of Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jorginho in 2024.

In the past, Arsenal have been caught in difficult situations with players entering the last year of their contracts at the Emirates Stadium, a predicament they’ll now look to avoid.

Liverpool are currently experiencing something similar, stressing over where all three of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold will be playing their football next season.

In terms of expiring contracts at Arsenal in 2025, Mikel Arteta will need to make a decision on Thomas Partey’s future, and whether to extend Jorginho’s deal for another year.

Fortunately, neither situation will cause Arsenal stress, and the club may even allow both to move on.

Ethan Nwaneri close to signing new five-year deal at Arsenal

That being said, according to FootballTransfers, Arsenal are currently focusing their attention on a new contract for Ethan Nwaneri

Arsenal have been in talks with the 17-year-old over a five-year extension and are now close to reaching a successful conclusion.

The club began talks last month over a new deal that would keep Nwaneri in north London until at least 2030.

Nwaneri turns 18 in March next year, when he will then be able to sign the new deal, given that 17-year-olds cannot sign a contract that runs longer than three years.

Of course, this will be very welcome news for Arsenal fans who have finally seen more of Nwaneri this season.

Theo Waclott described Nwaneri as ‘fearless’ after his cameo during Arsenal’s 4-2 win over Leicester City.

Arteta snubbed Gabriel Jesus in favour of bringing the youngster on, who certainly didn’t waste his chance.

PSG star ruled out of Arsenal Champions League clash

It remains to be seen if Arteta will consider starting Nwaneri when Arsenal face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday.

That being said, PSG will be without their ‘best player’ for their trip to N5 after a big bust-up with manager Luis Enrique.

Arteta has provided an Arsenal injury update ahead of the crucial clash, a game the home side need to take three points from.

Drawing away at Atalanta was a good result for the Gunners, but those efforts now need to be backed up by a win under the Emirates lights.

Unfortunately, it seems as if Riccardo Calafiori and Ben White could miss the game, meaning Arteta might even turn to another talented Arsenal youngster, Myles Lewis-Skelly.
