Arsenal fans have now had their say on a transfer rumour linking them with Kylian Mbappe.
Arsenal have recently been credited with an interest in Kylian Mbappe, following the emergence of a theory that the north London club are currently exploring whether a summer move for the French superstar would be at all viable.
Of course, the notion of bringing Mbappe to the Emirates Stadium is a long-shot at best. He is perhaps the best player in the world, and is certainly one of the most well-known. The star quality and marketability that he brings with him to any club all contributes to the costs associated with acquiring his services.
As things stand, Mbappe is set to become a free agent when his current contract with PSG expires at the end of this season. Given his present wage packet amounts to £888,000-per-week, the fact he would be available on a ‘free transfer’ doesn’t necessarily represent a bargain opportunity.
In any case, if there is any chance at all of bringing Mbappe to north London, Mikel Arteta has to look into it. The 24-year-old’s arrival would be a game-changing moment for the club.

What Arsenal fans are saying about Kylian Mbappe link
Some Arsenal fans on X are allowing themselves to get excited about the prospect of seeing the 75-cap France international in red and white. Referencing Arteta’s powers of persuasion, one supporter said, “just arrange a coffee meeting between Arteta and Mbappe trust me we will walk out with our man.” Another fan said, “Kylian Mbappe x Arsenal links again my delusions are growing.”
Lots of fans think this transfer link is very much pie-in-the-sky stuff, with one stating, “I know arsenal have upped their game in the transfer market but this is pure fantasy to suggest we’re anywhere near Mbappe.” Another supporter agreed, referencing the “the ridiculous amount of money it would require.”
However, one fan is convinced that, if Mbappe were to opt for a Premier League move this summer, then north London would be his preferred destination, saying, “if this is true then he surely picks us over Liverpool. Bigger pull in my opinion.”
One fan is wary of the dangers that come with introducing such a huge star into a tight-knit dressing room, though. They warn that Mbappe’s “ego is not good for the team he’ll be just another Ozil and Aubameyang he jettisoned Messi and Neymar to be the main focus of attack and it’s gone sideways.”
Time will of course tell if there is in fact any substance to these rumours. It certainly won’t be a move that will be entertained in the upcoming January transfer window.
