Many Arsenal fans have been keeping a close eye on the Club World Cup even though their side failed to qualify for the competition.

The Gunners’ London rivals, Chelsea, were in action on Friday night, where they faced Brazilian giants Flamengo in Philadelphia.

The Blues, in many people’s eyes, were the favourites to win the game, but Flamengo deservedly beat them 3-1 despite conceding first.

Former Arsenal star Jorginho was absolutely brilliant against Chelsea in the middle of the park, and Gooners have all been raving about him on social media.

Along with praise for the Italian, Arsenal fans also made their feelings clear about Declan Rice.

Arsenal fans make Declan Rice point after Jorginho beats Chelsea

Rice is arguably the best midfielder in the Premier League, but Chelsea fans have had a difficult time accepting that.

Many Blues supporters have tried to bring Moises Caicedo into the debate, but what Jorginho did to the Ecuadorian made it clear to everyone that Rice is levels above the Chelsea man.

One Arsenal fan tweeted: “Caicedo is better than Declan Rice? He couldn’t even lace 33-year-old Jorginho’s boots on the pitch.”

Another said: “I’m hearing Jorginho schooled £115m Caicedo. Meanwhile, Chelsea fans continue to cry about Rice being nominated for awards and being in the Team of the Season.”

“Jorginho agenda aside, there’s no way in hell that Caicedo is a better footballer than Rice,” wrote another.

Another Gooner tweeted: “Chelsea fans were comparing Rice with Caicedo, bro couldn’t even match 34-year-old Jorginho’s energy.”

“You talk a LOT about Rice, speak now on 33-year-old Jorginho dominating Caicedo and Enzo,” wrote another.

Arsenal may have made a big mistake with Jorginho

Arsenal allowed Jorginho to leave the club and join Flamengo on a free transfer this summer.

The Italian was excellent more often than not for the Gunners, and he had a big impact on and off the pitch at the Emirates.

Jorginho was allowed to leave because Martin Zubimendi was coming in at Arsenal, but Mikel Arteta may end up regretting that decision.

That is because Thomas Partey could leave Arsenal at the end of his contract this summer after talks over an extension stalled.

Jorginho showed against Chelsea that he is still capable of delivering. Keeping him instead of Partey would’ve been a good decision, but Arsenal could end up losing both of them now.
