Arsenal fans have now had their say on the rumours linking Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich with a switch to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Joshua Kimmich.
Kimmich is said to be considering a move to Arsenal, with contact having apparently already been made. However, the north London outfit face competition from the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Real Madrid for the 29-year-old’s signature.
Mikel Arteta will soon get a closer look at Kimmich, as the Gunners are set to take on Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The midfielder has been a key figure for the German giants for a long time. He has spent the last nine seasons on the books at Bayern Munich. In that time, he has made nearly 400 appearances for the Bavarian outfit, and has won eight Bundesliga titles and one Champions League crown, amongst numerous other honours.
There is no doubting that the 82-cap Germany international is a top class player, and there may well be a space for him in Arteta’s squad next season, as a midfield overhaul is on the horizon for Arsenal. Jorginho’s future at Arsenal is in doubt, and Thomas Partey cannot be relied upon to be fit and available when needed.

Arsenal fans have say on Joshua Kimmich
At 29, Kimmich is beyond the age profile that Arsenal have typically sought to invest in in recent seasons. This current team has been built around a core of players signed by Arteta who are all approaching their peak years at the same time, in the shape of the likes of Gabriel Magalhaes, Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Ben White, and Kai Havertz, amongst others.
The age issue has put many Arsenal fans off of a move for Kimmich. Taking to X, one supporter said, “Too old, hes 29. We already have a 32 year old and a 30 year old in midfield. We need a younger more athletic midfielder.” Another fan claimed, “He’s too old and washed.”
One fan chipped in with, “Would really seal up midfield and defence. Bolster the squad. But I’ll pick a younger player with similar profile.” Another said, “No way. Fantastic player but definitely on the decline physically. On huge wages too.”
