Arsenal star Jakub Kiwior could get a surprise opportunity against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
The Gunners still have a game in the Premier League before they face the Galacticos at the Emirates Stadium, but all eyes are already on that clash.
However, in what is a huge blow, Gabriel Magalhaes suffered an injury against Fulham, and there are now fears that he could miss the Champions League quarter-finals.
To make things worse, Jurrien Timber also went off injured on Tuesday night, while Ben White missed the game due to a knee issue.
Riccardo Calafiori has been sidelined too because of a knee injury of his own that he suffered while on international duty with Italy.
Mikel Arteta has claimed that Kiwior is ready to replace Gabriel in this starting lineup now, but Arsenal fans are not too convinced.
Arsenal fans react to Jakub Kiwior potentially starting vs Real Madrid
Kiwior is a very talented player, and the Poland international has produced a few good performances for Arsenal over the last two years.
However, the 25-year-old has made mistakes as well, which is why Arsenal fans are fearing the worst ahead of potentially seeing him start against Real Madrid.
One Arsenal fan tweeted: “Nah, we can’t go to the Bernabeu with Kiwior. Are you crazy?”
Another wrote: “Kiwior vs Mbappe? Yeah, it’s not looking good.”
“Mr Arteta is going to need to find yet another solution because there ain’t no way we’re getting past Real Madrid with Kiwior in there,” said another.
Another Gooner posted: “Do you know how bad it’s gonna be seeing Mbappe, Vincius and Rodrygo against Kiwior?”
“Kiwior CANNOT be an option, I’d rather play Tierney there,” said another.
Kiwior has what it takes to prove people wrong
If none of the injured players make it back in time, Arteta will have no choice but to start Kiwior against Real Madrid on Tuesday.
That, however, is not the worst thing that can happen.
The Pole mostly did a very good job when he replaced Rob Holding a couple of years ago, and he is more than capable of producing the goods again.
Kiwior just needs to stay calm, be positionally disciplined and communicate with William Saliba and Myles Lewis-Skelly, and he will be just fine.
But, if Gabriel can somehow make it back in time, it would give Arsenal a ginormous boost ahead of the quarter-final.
