Arsenal attacker Gabriel Jesus endured a tough campaign last season, but he is preparing to get back to his best.

The Brazilian scored just four Premier League goals in an injury-hit season, and lost his starting role as a striker to Kai Havertz.

However, he took the summer off to recover rather than going to the Copa America, and looks leaner than ever as Arsenal prepare to fly to the USA for their pre-season tour.

Arsenal played a behind-closed-doors friendly against Leyton Orient and won 2-0, with Jesus and Emile Smith Rowe on the scoresheet, and fans are now more convinced than ever that they will see Jesus back to his best form this season.

Arsenal fans believe Gabriel Jesus will return to best form this season

Jesus opened the scoring in the 20th minute, slotting home a cross from Eddie Nketiah, and fans are excited at the prospect of the 26-year-old enjoying a full pre-season campaign to get back to his best.

“Can we keep this guy injury-free this season, please?? It would be nice to see what we can do when he plays more than a handful of games,” one fan posted on X.

“Would love to see Gabby Jesus back to his best,” another added in response to his goal.

“Why do I get the feeling that we are going to see Gabriel Jesus back to his best this season,” one fan pointed out.

“Yes he will. People are sleeping on Gabby J and he’s the most skillful player at the club, on top of being a fantastic pro. If he can stay fit and work on his finishing, he’d be unstoppable,” another fan stated in response.

“Gabriel Jesus will come back to his very best and injury free next season,” another fan stated.

If Gabriel Jesus can remain injury-free in pre-season, he can use it as an opportunity to find his best form in front of goal to lead into the Premier League season, much like Olivier Giroud did in 2013.

With Bukayo Saka returning late from the Euros, if Jesus performs well in pre-season, he should start on the right wing in place of the England International, who could be afforded an extended rest if the Brazilian can lead the team in his absence.

Jesus was phenomenal in his first few months at Arsenal before his knee issues, and if he is now over them and back to full fitness, the prospect of having him back to his best is a mouthwatering one.
