Arsenal star Ethan Nwaneri’s loan move to Olympique Marseille is not going to plan.
The teenager had a difficult first half of the season under Mikel Arteta, where he played just over 500 minutes of football in all competitions.
In January, Nwaneri was convinced by Arteta to go and join Marseille on loan, so that he could learn from Roberto De Zerbi for six months.
However, less than a month later, the Italian manager has left his role at the club, leaving Nwaneri stuck at the Stade Velodrome.

Many Arsenal fans weren’t happy when they heard the news that Ethan Nwaneri was being sent out on loan by Arteta.
However, most of those supporters accepted the move because they knew the youngster would learn a lot from a manager like De Zerbi.
With the Italian gone now, fans want Nwaneri’s loan deal cancelled immediately.
One tweeted: “Honestly, we should get Marseille to give Nwaneri back. We need him.”
Another wrote: “Bring Nwaneri back, Arsenal.”
“With De Zerbi leaving Marseille, you have to call back Nwaneri, surely,” said another.
Another Gooner posted: “Arsenal, please recall Nwaneri fast.”
“Might as well recall Nwaneri. Mikel Merino is out, so it makes sense. No time to waste, please,” wrote another.

It would be ideal for Arsenal to bring Nwaneri back from his loan spell.
With De Zerbi gone, we think the youngster would be better off learning from Arteta at the Emirates from now until the end of this season.
But there is bad news.
Reports have claimed that Arsenal have not included a recall clause in Nwaneri’s loan deal, which means they cannot force him to return.
The only way to bring him back would be to reach an agreement with Marseille, but it is extremely unlikely that they will accept, as they cannot sign a replacement if they let him go.
So, as things stand, Nwaneri is expected to stay at the Stade Velodrome until the end of his loan deal.
