Arsenal fans have now received the latest news concerning Raheem Sterling’s injury.
Raheem Sterling sat out Arsenal’s 5-2 demolition on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
Ahead of the match, it was confirmed that Sterling was absent due to a fitness issue, however no specific details were provided at that time.
Mikel Arteta has now revealed that the Chelsea loanee has suffered a knee injury and is set for a significant spell on the sidelines.
The Spanish coach delivered the news in his press conference ahead of his side’s upcoming Premier League clash with Ipswich Town, as reported on X by journalist Kaya Kaynak.
The Arsenal manager said: “He’s gonna be out for weeks. He needs further testing tomorrow to understand the extent of his injury. It’s his knee.”

Arsenal fans react to Raheem Sterling injury update
Sterling has been a bit-part player at the Emirates Stadium so far this season, and many Arsenal fans on X have now lost patience with the 30-year-old and are keen to see him sent back to Stamford Bridge in the upcoming January transfer window.
One said: “Sterling… I think we need to cancel his loan and get an actual right winger.”
Another stated: “Sterling can go back to Chelsea.”
One Arsenal supporter claimed: “The one time you need him to be available he’s injured. Has been an awful signing so far.”
Another agreed: “Send him back and buy someone else.”
One added: “Absolutely useless signing.”
Another chipped in with: “Surely cancel the loan and bring someone else in?”
Arsenal face January without Sterling or Bukayo Saka
Sterling’s injury could not have come at a worse time for the Gunners.
Arteta has also confirmed that Bukayo Saka will be out with injury for some time, meaning that the North London club will now have to negotiate January without the Hale End academy graduate or Sterling available to play.
Saka is set to miss plenty of important Arsenal fixtures in January, and Sterling would have stood an excellent chance of getting plenty of game time to help with covering for the 23-year-old. This could have been his opportunity to finally make an impact at the Emirates Stadium.
This chance will pass the winger by now, and at this point his switch to North London must be viewed as a disaster.
