Arsenal fans have caught Liverpool ‘copying’ one of the Gunners’ most successful moves this season.
Arne Slot has done a terrific job since replacing Jurgen Klopp at Anfield. He has led Liverpool to the top of the Premier League table and they are now the favourites to win the title.
On Boxing Day, Liverpool picked up another win. They beat Leicester City 3-1 and completely deserved the three points.
However, Arsenal fans all spotted how Slot’s side copied Nicolas Jover‘s corner routine.
Just like the Gunners, Liverpool’s players started out in a deeper position and then ran towards the middle of the goal before the corner was taken. However, the Reds failed to score a single goal from their 14 corners.
They can copy how Arsenal set up inside the box, but they can’t be as successful as the Gunners.

Liverpool fans, supporters of other clubs and even a few pundits have all mocked Arsenal’s ability in set-pieces over the last few months.
Gary Neville called Jover an ‘annoying bloke’, while Dimitar Berbatov compared Arsenal to Stoke City. Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has aimed a few digs as well.
All of that seems ironic now after Liverpool, who are in a significantly advantageous position in the table than Arsenal, have resorted to copying the Gunners.
One Arsenal fan tweeted: “Liverpool stealing Nico Jover’s corner tactics? First, they mock you and then, they copy!”
Another said: “They called us Stoke City FC only for Liverpool to go ahead and copy our corner routine.”
“Liverpool fans cried about Arsenal’s corners for months just for their team to copy it play-for-play,” wrote another.
Another Gooner tweeted: “Liverpool trying to copy Arsenal’s corners and failing goes to show there’s more detail to it than what most people think. Nicolas Jover is a GENIUS!”
“Liverpool stealing Arsenal’s corner routine is hilariously budget and tells you a lot about the quality of original coaching at each club vs the media stick Arsenal get.”
What Arsenal need to do to beat Liverpool to the Premier League title
After 17 games, Arsenal are nine points behind Liverpool in the Premier League table.
The Gunners have left themselves in a very difficult position, but more than half of the season is still left to be played, and there is every chance that they can catch the Merseysiders.
However, to have any chance of pipping Liverpool to the title, Arsenal need to convert their chances.
Mikel Arteta’s men have been the better side in every game they have played this season, but they have dropped points in eight fixtures because they haven’t been clinical in front of goal.
If Arsenal can just convert their chances, we think they can go all the way in the title race and leapfrog Liverpool to win the Premier League.
