Andrea Berta has been left very red-faced by one of the players he sold at Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

One positive about Arsenal’s late kick-off against Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium was that fans could enjoy the action that unfolded prior.

The biggest talking point was Manchester City’s three o’clock win over West Ham United, which saw Pep Guardiola’s team temporarily leapfrog Arsenal in the table.

Man City are going to be a problem for Arsenal in the Premier League title race, but something more concerning than Guardiola’s side’s win happened before kick-off on Merseyside.

Over in Germany, Hamburg drew 1-1 with Eintracht Frankfurt, a match that Albert Sambi Lokonga starred in.

Arsenal fans slam Andrea Berta as Albert Sambi Lokonga scores again for Hamburg

Arsenal sold Lokonga for less than £1m in the summer, bringing the Belgian’s time in N5 to an end.

At first, fans were happy that Lokonga was sold as he deserved a place to thrive; however, the narrative changed once his sale price became clear.

Andrea Berta sold Lokonga for £260,000, an action that had Arsenal fans fuming after Hamburg’s draw.

“Andrea Berta masterclass to sell him for £200k,” an Arsenal supporter sarcastically posted on X.

Another painted the picture of how low the fee was, responding, “Couldn’t even pay 1 week of Havertz wages with that.”

How much do you think Albert Sambi Lokonga is worth today after Arsenal sold him for just £260k?

If you were Andrea Berta, how much would you have sold him for?

To rub salt in the wounds, a Hamburg fan wrote, “SAMBI LOKONGA. Thank you Arsenal for this absolute steal.”

Hamburg are overjoyed that they signed Lokonga, but Arsenal, perhaps not so much, as the transaction has caused the heat to pile on Berta.

“He actually sold him for 200k. very sackable offences,” a frustrated fan posted.

Another shared a similar opinion, reminding fans of Lokonga’s two encouraging loan spells at Luton Town and then Sevilla.

“Berta mastermind taking a huge loss after two decent loans.”

Jurgen Klopp’s comment on Lokonga looks even worse now for Arsenal

It was unsurprising that Lokonga’s recent loans became part of the discussion, as the midfielder earned high praise when he was at Luton Town.

Has there been a worse sale in Arsenal’s recent history than Albert Sambi Lokonga’s £260k exit?

Playing in the Premier League, the Belgian was able to show his worth, even capturing the eye of Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp was surprised that Arsenal loaned Lokonga out, saying the Gunners’ decision to let him leave the club at the time was ‘interesting’.

“When you see Albert Sambi Lokonga playing, and you think… oh! He’s an Arsenal player, and they loaned him? Interesting.”

It would be more than interesting to learn what Klopp thought about the decision to sell Lokonga for £260,000, as, pretty rapidly, it’s become clear that the price that Berta shook on was terrible.
