Arsenal travel to the north-west of England on Sunday afternoon to take on Manchester United at Old Trafford, with the game already sparking discourse around Mikel Arteta and Ruben Amorim.
Arteta was appointed as Gunners boss in December 2019 and has overseen a remarkable rebuild at the Emirates.
When the Spaniard took over, Arsenal were battling mid-table mediocrity, and now they’re competing for the Premier League title every season.
While the title race this season may be out of the North Londoners’ grasp at this stage, Arsenal thrashed PSV in midweek, and thus have essentially secured a Champions League quarter-final to look forward to.
Meanwhile, Amorim took charge of United in November, and has endured a turbulent spell in Manchester thus far, with his team currently sat in 14th with eleven games left to play.

Jamie Carragher issues Mikel Arteta and Ruben Amorim question
Arteta has an exceptional record against Manchester United, and Arsenal are expected to win comfortably at the Theatre of Dream on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners sit 21 points ahead of their north-west counterparts, who are in disarray on and an off the pitch.
Despite this, former Liverpool defender and now prominent pundit Jamie Carragher has questioned whether Arteta or Amorim is under more immediate pressure in their respective roles.
Writing for the Telegraph, Carragher ultimately concluded that Arteta is under less pressure than the Portuguese is at Old Trafford.
However, the fact that the broadcaster had to ponder the question in the first place is bizarre, and has inevitably prompted outrage from the Arsenal faithful on X.
Arsenal fans slam Jamie Carragher for his Mikel Arteta v Ruben Amorim question
Carragher’s query has inevitably sparked an onslaught from Gunners supporters, who can’t fathom how the outspoken figure could even ask such a question.
One fan responded to the ex-England star’s post X promoting the article, writing: “Probably the one in 14th to be honest Jamie.”
Another added: “One is second whilst the other is in 14th. In your entire playing career, you finished in second twice.”
One supporter attacked Carragher’s article with a serious of questions: “What is the point of this comparison? Why do you feel the need to invent pointless debates? You were a bang average defender in your playing days . Did you ever feel under pressure that Liverpool might replace you?”
Meanwhile, another Arsenal fan wrote: “Is this a serious post Jamie or yet another embarrassing one?! Let me think… one team is 2nd in the Premier League and in the last 8 of the Champions League after a record breaking 7-1 away win without 4 attacking players & the other is in the bottom half of the league and struggling!”
Paul Merson said he’d be shocked if Arsenal don’t beat Manchester United, and if the Gunners can dismantle Amorim’s side, then it’ll certainly help sway this narrative from the likes of Carragher in the Gunners’ favour.
