Arsenal fans have a lot to say as Bukayo Saka injured in England defeat, they’re furious about one thing

Arsenal have been dealt a blow as Bukayo Saka limped off injured during England’s 2-1 defeat to Greece at Wembley Stadium.

Saka has been outstanding this season, with the winger leading the Premier League for assists and chances created, and he was naturally one of the first names on the teamsheet for England.

England faced Greece at Wembley in a Nations League match, and manager Lee Carsley picked a surprisingly attacking team, with Declan Rice behind Saka, Cole Palmer, Phil Foden and Anthony Gordon.

The Arsenal star was withdrawn in the 52nd minute after Greece opened the scoring, and Carsley stated that Saka would have to be assessed after they spotted a problem as he went down in pain.

Arsenal fans are frustrated that they could lose another key player during an International break, after Martin Odegaard picked up a severe injury during a Norway match in September.

Arsenal fans furious as Bukayo Saka injured during the International break

Arsenal fans have taken to X to express their frustration at the timing of the latest International break, with Saka already playing a lot of minutes for his club this season.

“Last International break it was Martin Ødegaard, this International break it’s Saka. Two useless International breaks trying their best to damage Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League!” One fan posted.

“Get Saka in the first taxi back to Arsenal and wrap him in cotton wool. Cannot tell you how much I despise these pointless international games,” another fumed.

“I hope this Saka injury isn’t serious man. I hate this unnecessary international break,” another stated.

Arsenal have been accused of using the ‘dark arts’ in recent games, but some fans believe the club still has plenty of room to develop on this front.

“Odegaard – injured against Brighton and played on, then started the next game for Norway in the int break. Saka – knock in a meaningless international game and plays on, tweaks his hammy. Captain and vice-captain. We are nowhere near mastering the dark arts. Let’s get serious,” one posted.

“Time to bring Saka back to Arsenal ASAP. Tired of players getting injured during pointless international games!” Another added.

England need to rest Bukayo Saka more despite player desire

Saka will naturally want to play every possible minute for his country, and as one of the first names on the teamsheet for England, they are keen to have him available as much as possible.

However, England have plenty of other wing options, with Foden and Palmer both capable of playing on the right wing.

In the upcoming International breaks, England are playing games with little jeopardy compared to tournament football, and this is a good chance to rotate and give other players a chance, whilst also allowing Saka to manage his fitness, given that he is at risk of burnout.
