Arsenal fans took to social media to take aim at Erling Haaland, with the Manchester City striker struggling to find form once again.

Pep Guardiola has gone head-to-head with Mikel Arteta for the Premier League title over recent seasons, though both teams have suffered from a drop in form.

While Arsenal are still just hanging in the title conversation, Man City’s collapse has been something even more drastic.

The Cityzens, fresh from winning four titles on the spin, had only won one in 12 games across all competitions heading into a tie against Everton at the Etihad Stadium.

It offered a chance to regain some confidence, but it may have actually caused even more damage, not least for Erling Haaland.

Arsenal fans react to Erling Haaland’s missed penalty in Man City vs Everton

Haaland annoyed Arsenal fans when he told Arteta to “stay humble” after a late draw against Man City earlier this season.

His record since has come with great joy for fans of the Gunners, with his usually clinical nature going missing.

It only got worse for the Norway international, who was handed a chance to score from the penalty spot against relegation candidates Everton.

A poor spot kick was saved by Jordan Pickford, with his rebound flagged as offside and denied him another goal.

Arsenal fans took to social media with one clear reaction, as one fan said: “It was at this moment Haaland transferred his footballing skills to G.Jesus.”

“The Humble gods did Haaland dirty,” another fan said, showing that supporters truly never forget what is said.

Supporters continued to play on the humble theme, adding: “Haaland having trouble staying humble?” and “Haaland is so humble that he can’t even score from the spot anymore. Things I love to see.”

It was a nightmare for Haaland, but one that fans simply couldn’t help but relish in, adding: “Ha Ha Ha Haaland. It’s the most, humbling time, of the year.”

Another simply added: “Haaland is humbled again.”

For Arsenal, it shows just how deep the rivalry between the two teams has become in recent seasons, with some tight title races.

Haaland’s message won’t be forgotten any time soon and neither will his record since meeting with Arsenal.

Erling Haaland’s goal record since Arsenal “stay humble” claim

In the Premier League, Haaland started off in electric form, scoring in every one of the first five games in the league.

There were ten goals for the striker in that time, including two hat-tricks, which showed just how good he can be.

However, after the match against Arsenal, his record dropped off considerably and has since caused problems for Man City.

In 13 games since, Haaland has only scored three goals, which has come as a huge surprise with a drop in form.

It’s an extremely poor record, one that Arsenal fans will hope continues, but Man City can’t afford it to if they want a top-four finish, let alone a title race.
