Arsenal fans have Jamie Carragher sussed out after his latest comment

Thierry Henry’s feature on Sky Sports Monday Night Football after matchday 30 confirmed to Arsenal fans that Jamie Carragher acts differently around the Gunners legend.

Carragher talks about Arsenal a lot, both positively and negatively.

Discourse from pundits about Mikel Arteta’s side this season has been mostly negative, which is astounding given that the Gunners are the best side in the Premier League.

Earlier in the season, Carragher shared his concern that football has gone ‘too far back’ amid talk about Arsenal’s set-pieces and style of play in general.

However, on Monday Night Football, his take was completely different, which Arsenal fans suspect had something to do with Henry’s presence.

If you could make one pundit stop talking about Arsenal, who would you choose and why?

Fans think Jamie Carragher talks differently about Arsenal around Thierry Henry

Carragher isn’t the only pundit whose take on Arsenal has been so inconsistent this season.

Gary Neville has changed his tune about Arsenal entirely, which unsurprisingly aligns with the Gunners taking a huge step closer to winning the league.

Carragher has now followed suit, as Arsenal fans realised, based on the following comments he just made on Sky Sports.

“Some of the nonsense that has been spoken about Arsenal from other people in the game, about ‘should there be an asterisk around their name if they win the league’, is absolute nonsense.

“We analyse football teams on this show every week, all season, every year, there’s no right or wrong way to play football; it’s about being the best at what you do.”

That comment comes just four months after Carragher said Arsenal are too reliant on set-pieces, criticising how the Gunners win.

Ironic, right?

It’s why Gooners far and wide reacted on X to Carragher’s more appreciative take on Arsenal, claiming that the pundit entirely changes his view when Henry is around.

While some fans joked, others found Carragher’s approach rather hypocritical, noting that his opinions vary depending on his company.

“Jamie Carragher changes his opinion on Arsenal depending on who he is with/the situation. If Arsenal win well or he is with Henry, he’s full of praise & if we falter/he is with Gary Neville, he’s full of criticism. Hypocrite.”

If Henry is the solution to pundits talking nonsense about Arsenal, then long may his presence continue, as the talk around the Gunners this season has been, in some cases, unbearable.
