Leandro Trossard’s Belgium side once again failed to get a win at the World Cup as a resolute Iranian side held them in Los Angeles.

A packed out and impressive SoFi Stadium witnessed what was a drab 0-0 draw in the end as the out of sorts Belgians once again underperformed on the biggest stage.

For Arsenal fans, it was a chance to see their winger Leandro Trossard in action as he played the whole 90 minutes.

And in fairness to Trossard, he was Belgium’s best player.

He created five big chances throughout the game and was a constant menace down the left-hand side.

Indeed, so impressive was his performance, that Arsenal fans were all suggesting that it was the rest of the team that let him down.

Arsenal fans….you can sign Elliott Anderson but it will cost £140m, are YOU doing it or not?

Arsenal fans disappointed in Belgium as Leandro Trossard performs well v Iran

There may well be talk of Trossard leaving The Emirates this summer but as far as Roberto Martinez and Belgium go, he is a key player.

Fans across social media were all over Trossard’s performance against Iran and in the main, were lamenting his teammates for leaving him to it.

“Belgium has only three players. Courtois, Trossard and Tielemans. All the rest just appear and do nothing” one fan wrote.

While another suggested Belgium were ‘wasting a Trossard carry job’ by not taking their chances.

Another Arsenal fan shared a clip of all the chances Trossard created and simply labelled it ‘let down’ in a dig at the Belgian squad.

And getting yet more praise, one Arsenal fan pointed out why Trossard is underrated.

“Trossard dropping deep, combining with De Bruyne, and constantly opening up Iran’s defence. Such an intelligent performance. Underrated playmaker putting on a masterclass.”

Indeed, that praise continued, as another fan lauded the Arsenal man.

“Despite the scoreline, this was another reminder of why Trossard is such a valuable player for club and country. Technically sharp, tactically intelligent and always ready to make things happen.”

On this basis, it looks like Arsenal might want to reassess any decision they’ve made about selling the winger.

Should Belgium end up crashing out, then it will certainly be no fault of the Arsenal man.
