There are always a few surprises in every transfer window, and a former Arsenal player could be involved in one this time around.

Granit Xhaka was a Gunner for eight long years, and his time at the Emirates Stadium included highs and lows.

In the end, the Swiss international left the club with a lot of love from Arsenal fans, and everyone still adores him.

However, some supporters’ opinions might change now.

Fabrizio Romano and a number of other journalists have revealed that Xhaka has agreed to join Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea this summer.

Granit Xhaka has explained the difference between Mikel Arteta and Xabi Alonso…do you think Alonso’s Chelsea will be a problem for Arsenal next season?

Arsenal fans have their say about Granit Xhaka joining Chelsea

Xhaka wants to re-join Xabi Alonso and has expressed a desire to return to London, accepting any contract condition just to join Chelsea, reunite with Xabi and go back to London. Deal on,” Romano revealed on X.

Arsenal fans were taken aback by the news, and the reaction is unsurprising.

One Gooner tweeted: “Good luck Xhaka, but I don’t like this move.”

Another wrote: “Honestly, if he goes there, he deserves more boos than he got against Palace when he threw the armband.”

“That Chelsea shade of blue is just not his colour. I wish we could’ve got him instead of never playing Norgaard this season,” said another.

Another Arsenal fan commented: “I hated him, he won me back, now he’s Cesc Fabregas levels of disdain.”

“Don’t do it, Granit. You’re one of us and always will be. Don’t go,” tweeted another.

Granit Xhaka would be an incredible signing for Chelsea

Rivalry aside, Xhaka would be such a good signing for Chelsea.

The former Arsenal man ran the show for Sunderland last season and helped them get into Europe. He is amazing on the ball, very good without it, and most importantly, he is a bigger leader than anyone at Stamford Bridge.

Furthermore, Xhaka and Xabi Alonso know each other very well and achieved great success during their time together at Bayer Leverkusen.

Arsenal fans are right to be slightly upset, but they will all know that Chelsea will be a better side with Xhaka at their club.
