Arsenal fans notice a huge change to Kai Havertz as striker returns to training, it’s ‘not ideal’

Kai Havertz was pictured in training at Arsenal at long last, having been out since the first game of the season.

Mikel Arteta confirmed that Havertz is close to returning, with the German taking a huge step forward in his recovery by joining his teammates at Colney.

Suddenly, Viktor Gyokeres has gone from being Arsenal’s lone number nine, excluding Mikel Merino, to being joined by the competition of Gabriel Jesus and Havertz.

It’s only good news for Arsenal, whose injury list has been damaging so far this season; however, eagle-eyed fans noticed a huge change about Havertz after the pictures of him training emerged.

Arsenal fans notice Kai Havertz’s muscle loss

During pre-season, it was clear that Havertz had gained a lot of muscle, appearing to be a lot more muscular than he was during the 2024/25 campaign.

It was a surprise to see the striker’s frame change as much as it did, but now, fans have noticed that his bulk is a thing of the past.

“He looks like he’s lost all that muscle he had in pre-season,” one Arsenal fan wrote on X.

Responding to the images of Havertz in training, another agreed.

“He appears to lost all that muscle he gained, looks just like when he came here, not ideal.”

Is Kai Havertz’s change in build positive or negative for Arsenal’s attack? Let us know your thoughts.

Havertz was criticised for being weak early into his time at Arsenal, making his transformation understandable, but things have since changed.

One user on X wrote, “Looks like Havertz lost all muscle he put on until summer.”

Another was quite shocked by the visible change in the 26-year-old, “Wait.. he’s lost the muscle already?”

Many picked up on the change in Havertz’s build.

“My guy lost all his bulk,” and “Kai was looking so hench going into this season… what happened to the bulk?”

However, one fan pondered whether Havertz’s change is actually a good thing.

“Has he debulked his muscles? he looks slimmer here than he did in pre-season (I’m not against it! I thought he lost some agility through bulking too much).”

Sometimes, building too much muscle can be a problem for football players, making the change to Havertz’s physique even more interesting.

Havertz’s return could come at the perfect time

While his physique had fans talking, the main takeaway from the images of Havertz in training being released was that supporters are excited to have him back.

It’s unsurprising, as the German has shown how crucial his presence is at Arsenal, particularly in title races.

Change my mind, Kai Havertz’s return can win Arsenal the league.

Before an injury-tainted 2024/25 season, Havertz was an assassin in the run-in to the end of the 2023/24 campaign, contributing to the goals on Arsenal’s tremendous run.

His nine goals in the run-in weren’t enough to win Arsenal the title that time around, but will his return deliver silverware this term? We’ll soon find out.
