Arsenal were held to a draw against a stubborn Everton side at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.
Leandro Trossard gave the Gunners the lead towards the end of the first half, firing past Jordan Pickford after being fed by Raheem Sterling.
Darren England then awarded Everton a controversial penalty in the second period, when Myles Lewis-Skelly was adjudged to have fouled Jack Harrison inside the Arsenal box.
Iliman Ndiaye converted the spot-kick, earning the Toffees a point against Mikel Arteta’s men.

Arsenal fans weren’t happy with David Raya for Everton’s penalty
The awarding of the penalty was certainly dubious, but what David Raya did when Ndiaye stepped up annoyed some Arsenal fans more than the decision.
The goalkeeper took a big step to his right as Ndiaye took his run-up, and opted to dive incredibly early, way before the Everton striker made connection with the ball.
One fan posted a video of the clip on X, writing: “Why is David Raya moving so early??????????”
Another wrote: “When is someone going to tell Raya he has the worst penalty-saving technique ever?”
One supporter added: “Someone tell Raya to stop diving so early. The bloke was outside of the posts as the ball went in.”
Meanwhile, another fan claimed Raya always dives the wrong way, writing: “Has Raya tried not diving miles before the kicker has taken yet, would probs stop him going the wrong side every single time?”
David Raya’s general performance was solid against Everton
Raya has been excellent for Arsenal this season, and aside from the bizarre movement on the penalty, his all-round game was as steady as always against the Merseysiders.
Everton’s primary method of attempting to breach the Gunners’ formidable back-line was to send crosses into the box, and Raya astutely put these fires out with some excellent claims.
On top of this, the Spaniard’s distribution was impressive throughout, finding some smart passes into midfield whilst under pressure.
| Raya’s Statistics vs Everton | |
| Minutes Played | 90 |
| Saves | 1 |
| Accurate Passes | 31/42 (74%) |
| Throws | 3 |
| High Claims | 5 |
| Touches | 50 |
While he only had one save to make and was largely untested from a shot-stopping perspective, the other aspects of his game were as good as they always are.
If he can work on how he attempts to stop penalties ahead of the Real Madrid tie, then Arsenal fans have nothing to be worried about with their number one.
