Arsenal have been handed a potential boost over the fitness of Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard after injury concerns in the win over Leeds United.
The problems for the pair were the only bad point in an otherwise positive opening game at the Emirates Stadium for the new Premier League season.
Braces from Jurrien Timber and Viktor Gyokeres came surrounding a goal from Saka, ensuring that Arsenal sealed a 5-0 win over Leeds to maintain their 100% start to the campaign.
While that helped them seal a win, there were fears that some of the old patterns from last season were emerging yet again.
Most notably, that referred to the injury issues for Arsenal, as both Odegaard and Saka were brought off with separate concerns during the game.
Now, following some scans, there may be some positive news for Mikel Arteta to take after those worries.

Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka injuries are not as bad as first feared
Injuries to Odegaard and Saka come as concerns ahead of a run of important and difficult fixtures for Arsenal.
Liverpool await the Gunners next up, with an international break to follow, while Manchester City and Newcastle are all around the corner.

Fortunately, it seems as though those injury concerns are not as bad as first feared, according to the Times.
After scans, it’s claimed that both will avoid an “extended” period out of action, though it’s unclear when they could be fit again.
Saka appeared to suffer a hamstring problem, something he struggled with last season as he missed four months of action after surgery on a serious tear.
As for Odegaard, he struggled with a shoulder issue that he appeared to pick up from landing awkwardly after a challenge.
Whether either will be available for next week’s huge clash with Liverpool is unclear, which could still come as a huge blow.

Arsenal’s new-look depth options will be key to Liverpool clash
It’s no secret that Arsenal have had their injury issues over recent months, but it will be an opportunity to show what the squad as a whole is capable of now.
The Gunners have strengthened in the window with quality depth options, as the signings of Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze can cover for both Saka and Odegaard.
That is on top of the quality already available in players like Ethan Nwaneri, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli in the forward areas.
While it’ll be far from ideal if both their star players miss out, there can be no excuses as the whole squad must chip in to earn some big points.
