Arsenal handed major Bukayo Saka injury blow as star suffers fresh problem against Crystal Palace

Arsenal have suffered another injury concern as Bukayo Saka picked up a fresh issue in their clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday.

It came as the Gunners played a topsy-turvy opening at Selhurst Park against the Eagles, where three goals made for a quick start.

Gabriel Jesus picked up where he left off in the EFL Cup, where he scored a hat-trick, by bagging another goal early on.

An error at the back saw Ismaila Sarr bring the home side level, though just moments later Jesus restored that lead.

While it was a quicker start than in midweek, there was a fresh Arsenal injury concern to deal with in the match.

Bukayo Saka injury concern during Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

Arsenal’s reliance on Bukayo Saka this season has been clear, with the star making a clear impact on the right flank.

The winger had started bright against Crystal Palace, causing a few issues with crosses on his side, but without much to show for it.

He then suffered an injury issue, picking up a problem with his right leg that caused him to stay on the ground.

After a check with the physio, Saka was substituted off for Leandro Trossard, unable to continue in the match.

It comes as a major worry for the talisman, who is used to riding challenges but being able to carry on.

It remains to be seen just how serious the issue could be for the Gunners, with updates on his issue likely to come in the hours ahead.

Bukayo Saka replacements amid injury concerns

Unfortunately for Arsenal, there aren’t many clear replacements for Saka, should he be injured for some of the matches ahead.

Raheem Sterling is an injury concern, with the star missing from the squad to take on Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Trossard is an option, though it isn’t his natural side, while the same goes for Gabriel Martinelli – who usually features on the left.

Gabriel Jesus may be able to play on the flank, though his recent goal glut could see Arteta prefer him at centre-forward.

With some big games in the Premier League and EFL Cup coming up, the last thing Arsenal could do with is missing Saka for any length of time.
