Mikel Merino returns to Arsenal training after injury
Arsenal have been handed a major boost before they face PSG in the Champions League as Mikel Merino made his return to training.
The midfielder has been out of action since he signed for the Gunners late in the summer transfer window, following an injury problem.
During one of the Spaniard’s first training sessions at the club, defender Gabriel Magalhaes collided with him in a challenge that resulted in a shoulder issue.
Merino has been spotted in the Emirates Stadium crowd in recent weeks with a sling, but has slowly removed it and is gearing up for a return to action.
While the return to training indicates a potential debut on the cards, the clash with PSG may be too soon for him to make his way into the team.

PSG handed Ousmane Dembele blow before Arsenal clash
Arsenal’s clash with PSG will be a huge match for both teams in their hopes of making a push higher up the Champions League table this season.
The Gunners have one point to their name after a goalless draw with Atalanta in their opener, while Les Parisiens have three points following a win over Girona in their first game.
While both teams will find it to be a tough encounter, PSG have been given a huge blow to their chances against Arsenal.
That’s because, according to L’Equipe, Ousmane Dembele is set to miss out on the tie at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
The winger is claimed to have had a heated argument with manager Luis Enrique after their victory against Rennes.
This has prompted the head coach to leave his star forward out of the squad, removing a key aspect of the team.

Arsenal close to new Ethan Nwaneri contract
Arsenal appear to be closing in on a new contract for midfielder Ethan Nwaneri for when the youngster turns 18 in March 2025.
That’s according to FootballTransfers, which claims that the promising star is in talks over a five-year deal once he is eligible to sign it with the Gunners.
It comes after the Hale End academy ace has pushed his way into the thinking of Mikel Arteta in the first team picture.
Nwaneri has started to become more involved in senior matches following a first full start against Bolton in the EFL Cup.
