Arsenal have been handed another devastating injury blow just over a week before their huge clash with Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The Gunners took on Fulham after a two-and-a-half-week break from action, with their Premier League campaign ticking away in the background while the title seems unlikely.

European qualification is still up for grabs, while Arsenal are looking to build some momentum before the match with Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals.

While such a big game is around the corner, there was a blow as Ben White was missing through injury against Fulham, with a minor problem that makes him a doubt.

Now seemingly joining him in the treatment room is Gabriel Magalhaes, who has a fresh problem.

Arsenal handed Gabriel Magalhaes injury problem against Fulham

While Arsenal made their return to action, there was some hope that a win and a fully fit squad would build some momentum heading into the coming week of action.

However, that took a huge blow just moments into the clash with Fulham at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

Gabriel Magalhaes was sprinting back to help stop a counter-attack but seemingly pulled up holding his hamstring.

In a huge problem for the side, the Brazilian clutched the back of his leg, while the game continued to play out.

Arsenal opted against putting the ball out, and while the defender went to the ground several times, it took a while before the Arsenal medical staff could look at him.

After an assessment, Gabriel was brought off in favour of Jakub Kiwior, with many now hoping he will be fit enough in the coming weeks.

Gabriel Magalhaes now an injury doubt for Arsenal vs Real Madrid

The injury to Gabriel Magalhaes is not only a problem for the clash with Fulham, but could have wider implications for the season.

The Arsenal defender is now a clear injury doubt for the coming Champions League clash with Real Madrid.

If it is a hamstring injury, then the minimum is usually a two-week absence, which puts him at risk for featuring at all.

Of course, that depends on the analysis of the medical department on how serious the injury is, but it puts serious doubt on that possibility.

If Gabriel is to miss out, then the chances of a win in the Champions League takes a real knock.
