Speaking to TNT Sports, the former midfielder revealed that he knew early on that Arteta would become a top-quality coach.

“Yeah he had it in him, for a long time you could see that, when we played together he was already preparing for his next step when he will retire, basically he was doing his badges already as a player and stuff like that.

“So you could see the leadership qualities he had before and you can see now on the bench.

“Yeah of course I wish him well, I hope they can make it and I think the last season they showed, I think Mikel himself and the whole club has what it takes to win it (the Premier League).”

Norway manager talks up Martin Odegaard return

Captain Martin Odegaard is still missing for Arsenal following an injury he picked up whilst playing for Norway during the international break.

It now appears that he could return soon, with Norway manager Stale Solbakken claiming that he wants Odegaard to feature in the November break.

“Everything indicates that things are going according to plan. So it’s about the last steps when you have to train with opponents and in team training,” he told VG.

“It depends on how he responds to that, but we have a legitimate hope that he is ready.”

Arsenal fans will be furious if Odegaard is called up for Norway if not yet fully recovered, but it does indicate that we can expect to see him fairly soon.
