Arsenal have now done something in consecutive games for ‘the first time’ in club history

Arsenal are flying in the Premier League right now, and are hitting a consistent level of performance hardly seen before.

A 6-0 win away at West Ham was the biggest away victory in the history of the club, with Arsenal solid at the back and rampant going forward.

They have now won five games in a row, and have started the calendar year in this manner for the first time ever.

Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard have both been particularly sensational in the last two games, with both players notching up four goals and assists each.

Arsenal’s 5-0 victory over Burnley today saw them break several records, and one now stands above the rest in the history of the club.

Arsenal have remarkably hit 11 goals without reply in the last two games, which have both been away from home.

These two victories have now meant that Arsenal have scored five or more goals in back-to-back away wins for the first time ever, as per Harvey Downes on X.

Arsenal have had seven different goalscorers across these two wins, with Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Odegaard, Saka and Leandro Trossard finding the back of the net.

Mikel Arteta’s side have also been outstanding defensively, barely conceding any efforts on goal, in what have been two utterly dominant displays.

Arsenal are finding title-challenging form

Arsenal were almost down and out entirely in the Premier League title race before they secured victory over Liverpool, and have been the best team in the top-flight since.

They are riding a wave of confidence, and this is even more impressive considering that several key players including Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko are missing.

Arteta has claimed that Arsenal will need a fully fit squad if they are to be title challengers at the end of the season, and having extra depth on top of this form could make the Gunners unstoppable.

A run of three defeats saw Arsenal’s heads drop as several key players hit a bad patch of form at the same time, but a mid-season trip to Dubai allowed a mental and physical rest, and they have come back firing.

If Arsenal can maintain their current form, they will be able to challenge for both the Premier League and Champions League, and whilst there is still a long way to go, their recent performances are worthy of such high praise.
