Jorginho contract

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho is entering the final few months of his contract with the club, leading to questions over his future. However, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners have an option to keep the Italian international beyond this summer.

Posting on X, he said: “The option to extend Jorginho’s contract for one more year is still valid and it will be available until the end of the season for Arsenal. Mikel Arteta, really happy with his performances.”

It remains to be seen whether the club will look to extend Jorginho’s contract before another big summer of transfer business.

Premier League VAR statement

The Premier League and the PGMOL have come under fire this season over VAR and refereeing in matches. However, the top flight have hit back with a defence over the use of the system in the game so far.

As reported by Sky Sports, the Premier League claim that 96% of refereeing decisions made so far are correct, while before the introduction of VAR that figure stood at just 82%. It suggests that the system is better than before.

However, that hasn’t stopped anger over VAR, with some mistakes and the fan experience of the system still receiving a spotlight.
