The latest Arsenal injury news ahead of the Gunners facing Burnley with Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard doubts for Saturday’s Premier League meeting in north London.

Burnley travel to Emirates Stadium for their final fixture before the international break eager to snap their latest losing streak. The Clarets have lost their past four matches since winning their only fixture so far this season. Arsenal also lost their first match this term last time out.

Anthony Gordon’s controversial goal gave Newcastle United a 1-0 win over Arsenal that left Mikel Arteta irate. The Gunners had won seven and drew three of their opening 10 fixtures. Arsenal are now three points off the top of the table and are facing growing injury problems.

Arsenal injury list ahead of facing Burnley

Victory over Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday night came at a cost for Arsenal after further injury blows. Arteta was already without a host of first-team players before their 2-0 win. Saka assisted Leandro Trossard before scoring once himself to pip the La Liga side.

The win in midweek meant Arsenal avoided three successive defeats across all competitions after also losing at West Ham United in the Carabao Cup. Arteta will now hope his mounting injury problems do not lead to back-to-back league defeats for the first time since this May.

Bukayo Saka injury latest

Arsenal host Burnley this Saturday hoping that the injury Saka sustained against Sevilla does not prove a major issue. Arteta replaced the 22-year-old in the 85th minute of their Group B affair after he reported some discomfort. Sevilla had fouled Saka five times during the game.

Sevilla took to rotationally fouling Saka to try and limit his threat over the early exchanges in north London. Those blows ultimately took a toll but Saka was able to join the Arsenal team celebrating their win at full-time. Arteta also admits injuries like his will be all too common.

“There is contact in football and, obviously for the wingers who want to take people on, this is going to happen,” Arteta said, via the Arsenal website. “At the end, he wasn’t comfortable to carry on. Hopefully, it’s not too much.”

Expected return: Burnley (November 11)

Eddie Nketiah injury latest

Arsenal confirmed ahead of kick-off this Wednesday that Eddie Nketiah would miss their tie with Sevilla due to an injury. The 24-year-old failed to shake the ankle knock that prevented him from training earlier this week. He remains a doubt for the visit of Burnley on Saturday.

Expected return: Burnley (November 11)

Takehiro Tomiyasu injury latest

The Sevilla affair dealt Arsenal another injury concern for their match against Burnley with Takehiro Tomiyasu. Arteta confirmed after the Gunners’ 2-0 win that the full-back suffered an injury during the first half. It forced him to introduce Oleksandr Zinchenko at the break.

“He had some discomfort in the first half and we didn’t want to take any risks,” Arteta said, via the Arsenal website. “He’s played a lot of minutes and, obviously, having Alex on the bench ready to come in, I think it was the right decision.”

Expected return: Burnley (November 11)

Martin Odegaard injury latest

Arteta may have to wait until after the international break to recall Odegaard as the Arsenal captain deals with a hip injury. Norway boss Stale Solbakken has admitted he is ‘worried’ for the playmaker’s involvement in November. It has troubled the 24-year-old in recent weeks.

Odegaard initially suffered the blow at Sevilla in October and watched Arsenal beat Sheffield United from their bench. Arteta would recall the maestro in the final stages of their Carabao Cup exit to West Ham. But he would not have Odegaard at Newcastle or at home to Sevilla.

Expected return: Brentford (November 25)

Emilie Smith Rowe injury latest

Arteta expects Emile Smith Rowe will miss a few weeks with the knee injury he sustained at home to Sheffield United. The 23-year-old started the 5-0 thrashing and he laid on an assist. But he then reported some discomfort before the Gunners’ trip to West Ham in the EFL Cup.

“He’s got an injury in his knee and he’s going to be out for weeks,” Arteta said after losing at London Stadium, via the Arsenal website.

Expected return: Brentford (November 25)

Gabriel Jesus injury latest

Arsenal could remain without Gabriel Jesus until December while their striker recovers from a hamstring injury. The Sun reports that the 26-year-old is aiming to play his return to fitness carefully. Arteta is also loath to rush Jesus back too soon after doing so with his earlier issue.

Jesus only missed the first three games of their season after undergoing surgery on his knee before the Community Shield. It was the same knee that he had surgery on after the World Cup and missed three months. The attacker scored four goals in 11 games during his return.

Expected return: Wolves (December 2)

Thomas Partey injury latest

Arsenal fear Thomas Partey has played his last game this year due to a thigh injury, let alone face Burnley. The 30-year-old sustained the blow in training the day before the Gunners’ trip to Sevilla in October. He had also only just returned to fitness following a previous problem.

Partey returned from a mix of a groin and thigh injury to help see out Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Manchester City. But after building his fitness with Ghana in the October break, he returned to the medical room. Now, the Mirror notes Arsenal fear Partey will not return before 2024.

Expected return: PSV Eindhoven (January 12)

Jurrien Timber injury latest

Arsenal refuse to put any timeframe on when Arteta can expect to welcome Jurrien Timber back from his ACL injury. The summer signing from AFC Ajax needed surgery in August after suffering a blow on his Premier League debut. It will likely sideline him for most of the term.

Expected return: Unclear

Kai Havertz is at risk of suspension

Arsenal will also host Burnley this Saturday with Arteta fearful of Kai Havertz being at risk of suspension. The 24-year-old received his fourth yellow card in the Premier League this term during their 1-0 defeat at Newcastle. He drew a card for a dangerous foul on Sean Longstaff.

Havertz was lucky to avoid a straight red card for the challenge late in the first half, as well. The German clattered through the Magpies’ midfielder but escaped with a yellow. Referee Stuart Attwell infuriated Newcastle with the decision, leading to three cautions for dissent.
