The latest Arsenal injury news ahead of Sheffield United visiting Emirates Stadium this Saturday, amid an update from Mikel Arteta on the fitness of star striker Gabriel Jesus.
Sheffield United visit north London at the weekend still seeking their first win in the Premier League this season. Paul Heckingbottom is already facing a fight for his future at the Bramall Lane helm. The Blades have lost eight of their first nine games ahead of their trip to Arsenal.
Six wins and three draws sit beside the Gunners’ name, though, as one of the two remaining unbeaten clubs. Sheffield United have also scored fewer goals (7) than Arsenal have thus far conceded (8). Only Manchester City (7) have let in fewer goals than the Gunners this term.

Arsenal injury list ahead of facing Sheffield United
Arsenal have also scored 18 times through their nine Premier League fixtures and continued to score in midweek. Goals by Gabriel Martinelli and Jesus helped Arsenal to beat Sevilla 2-1 in the Champions League. But Arteta had to replace Jesus late on after he suffered an injury.
Jesus is now among the fitness concerns facing Arsenal ahead of hosting Sheffield United at Emirates Stadium on Saturday. So, with that in mind, here is Arteta’s current injury situation.
Gabriel Jesus injury latest

Arteta replaced Jesus in the 81st minute of Arsenal’s win over Sevilla after he felt an injury in his hamstring. The 26-year-old had assisted Martinelli before scoring in the Group B tie to sit on four goals and an assist this term. Three of his goals have come in the UEFA tournament.
The 63-cap Selecao star had started this season on the sidelines after requiring surgery for a minor injury in the knee he initially injured at the 2022 World Cup. Arteta is now concerned that Jesus has suffered a potentially major hamstring injury as Arsenal beat Sevilla, however.
“Really happy,” Arteta said of Jesus’ performance this Tuesday, via the Arsenal club website. “Big games for big players, and he needed to produce those moments to win in stadiums like this. He’s done it and, obviously, he opened the game for us in a great way.
“And then, we’re really sad because he felt something in his hamstring, and he had to come off and I’m worried about that.”
Expected return: Unclear
Thomas Partey injury latest
Arsenal left Thomas Partey back at London Colney to receive treatment when they travelled to Sevilla on Tuesday. The 30-year-old missed the Champions League tie after he sustained a thigh injury during training this Monday, per football.london. He is a doubt for Saturday, too.
Partey had built up his fitness over the October international break with Ghana, having only recently returned from an injury. The 45-cap star missed six games with a groin issue before seeing out Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Manchester City. He was an unused substitute at Chelsea.
Expected return: Unclear
Jurrien Timber injury latest
Arsenal only have one long-term injury absence ahead of hosting Sheffield United as Jurrien Timber continues his rehabilitation. The 22-year-old sustained an ACL injury on the opening day of the Premier League season. He underwent surgery and will miss most of the season.
The Arsenal medical team are refusing to put a timeframe on Timber’s return from the ACL injury, per Charles Watts. Gunners staff are mindful to avoid any unnecessary pressure over his long-term recovery programme. Arsenal are not even discussing when he might return.
Expected return: Unclear
