Arsenal remain in the hunt to win the Premier League title and Champions League but Mikel Arteta is already taking action to remedy key injury problems this season.

The Gunners have been hit by a number of setbacks over the course of the season as key players have spent time out on the sidelines.

Ahead of this weekend’s clash with Fulham, both Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber are missing in yet another injury blow.

Now, according to reports from The Telegraph, Mikel Arteta has commissioned an internal investigation.

Arsenal seek outside advice over injury problems

According to the report, The Gunners have sanctioned the arrival of Spanish physio Joaquin Acedo to join the club from an external standpoint.

The aim is to launch a review and get a fresh set of eyes on what has been a torrid season in terms of injuries.

The Telegraph reports that Acedo is a friend of Mikel Arteta and the physio has been spending time around London Colney regularly in recent months.

Furthermore, it’s suggested that there are internal ‘tensions’ at the club due to the injury issues.

There is a feeling that the injuries could end up costing Arsenal the big trophies they desire.

Arsenal’s injury curse this season

The injuries this season have been a bit ridiculous. Even as we write now, Arsenal have troubles with Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Mikel Merino and Jurrien Timber.

That’s four key players struggling at a key point in the season.

Over the course of the season, Havertz missed the entire first two thirds of the campaign, while Bukayo Saka has faced time out recently.

Riccardo Calafiori is another who has been injured, while Ben White has only recently got fully fit as well.

In fact, only the likes of Martin Zubimendi and Myles Lewis-Skelly have avoided serious injury. Other than that, every other player has had a problem at some point.

Clearly, this is an issue for the Gunners and one that needs resolving quickly.
