Marseille midfielder Quinten Timber has noticed that Ethan Nwaneri is improving every day in training while on loan from Arsenal.
Nwaneri’s loan at Marseille started on dream terms, as he scored on his debut; however, ever since, it’s been a bit of a calamity.
Roberto De Zerbi was sacked, seeing a mass change at the club, resulting in Nwaneri’s game time decreasing, having played 19 minutes since.
While Arsenal will be worried about the impact De Zerbi’s exit could have on Nwaneri, the club will be encouraged to learn that the teenager’s teammates think he’s ticking plenty of boxes.

Quinten Timber says Ethan Nwaneri is improving every day while on loan from Arsenal
Speaking in a press conference ahead of Marseille’s clash with Lyon, Quinten Timber was asked to share his thoughts on Nwaneri.
“Ethan Nwaneri is a really good guy. He’s very young, but he has a lot of talent, I saw that from the very first practice,” Timber said, as transcribed by Le Phoceen.
Despite the mixed feedback Nwaneri has received at Marseille, Timber maintained that, in training, he sees the teen improve every single day.
“He’s adapted well, and he’s improving every day. I’m sure the fans will be happy to see him continue to develop here.”
Ethan Nwaneri has a challenge to overcome with Habib Beye
Timber noted that Nwaneri has adapted well, but the adaptation will not stop for the playmaker, who has a new manager instructing him: Habib Beye.
There are some question marks about how Beye could utilise Nwaneri, as raised by La Provence, who stated their concern about how the Arsenal loanee fits into the new boss’s system.
What position would you most like to see Ethan Nwaneri develop in at Marseille?
Beye plays a 3-5-2 system, which La Provence say, ‘doesn’t seem to suit’ Nwaneri, who is appearing to be a little too ‘lightweight’ to be utilised as a wing-back.
On Beye’s debut as Marseille manager, he utilised Nwaneri from the bench as a striker, making it fascinating to see how the teen combats the stark change in tactics.
The good news is that he seems to be relishing the challenge, based on Timber’s feedback, giving Mikel Arteta an insight into what progression he could see from the youngster upon his return to N5.
