Arsenal striker Kai Havertz has been on the sidelines over the past week after suffering a knee injury in the recent clash with Manchester United.
The forward made a cameo in the match, as the Gunners ran out as winners at Old Trafford, thanks to a goal from Riccardo Calafiori.
While it was a tough performance, with a positive result, the tough news to come from it was Havertz’s injury.
The German international spent the latter half of last season out injured with a hamstring issue, which was picked up during the Dubai trip.
While he returned to fitness, Arsenal have been left with a bold decision to make over a potential surgery for the striker.

Arsenal decide on surgery for Kai Havertz’s knee injury
Arsenal had been waiting to make a decision on possible knee surgery for Havertz, as questions remained over the extent of his issue.
The injury was claimed not to be serious, but it appears as though the Gunners have decided to pursue surgery for the star.
That’s according to The Athletic, which reports that the German international will undergo a procedure in the near future.
A long absence is not expected, which is good news for Arsenal, as they have some tough fixtures coming up.
It does mean, however, that Havertz is likely to miss the Liverpool game, while there is a wait for a possible return.
Following that clash is the international break, which the forward isn’t involved in with Germany, as he recovers.

Which games could Kai Havertz miss for Arsenal through injury
With Kai Havertz now on the sidelines, there is almost an expectation that he will definitely miss the Liverpool clash next up.
He could be joined by Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Ben White, Christian Norgaard and Gabriel Jesus as potential injury absentees.

After that comes a two-week break, thanks to international duty, followed by clashes with Nottingham Forest, Manchester City, Newcastle and West Ham.
It’s unclear exactly how long Havertz will be missing for, but a short absence suggests he could be back within that time frame.
Given the difficulty of those clashes, it’s clear that a return for him would be a boost.
