Arsenal striker Kai Havertz suffered a knee injury earlier this week, with the full prognosis yet to be revealed.
The German sustained a serious hamstring tear in training back in February, and he subsequently missed three months of football after undergoing surgery.
Returning at the end of last season, the centre-forward looked sharp during pre-season for the Gunners.
Coming off the bench in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Manchester United on the weekend, Havertz managed to pick up another potentially serious injury, and will now face another spell on the sidelines.

Arsenal striker Kai Havertz out for ‘at least a month’
Arsenal have advanced in a deal to sign Eberechi Eze, following the news that Havertz will miss some football over the next few months.
Concerns over the extent of the former Chelsea star’s setback prompted calls from Gunners supporters for the club to spend big on a replacement imminently.
However, it’s now been revealed that Havertz’s injury and Eze’s signing are not interlinked.
Instead, the Gunners are willing to rely on Mikel Merino and Leandro Trossard as deputies for Viktor Gyokeres until the divisive number nine returns from injury.
This likely means that the injury isn’t as severe as initially feared, although journalist Sami Mokbel has revealed that Arsenal are ‘concerned’ about the knee issue.
“Yeah, it is a big blow,” Mokbel said on the Football Daily podcast.
“He’s got a niggle in his knee and it’s something that he’s concerned about. Arsenal are obviously concerned about.
“From my understanding, he’s going to see a specialist or has seen a specialist. And I am now waiting for news on the severity of the results of those tests and the scans. But I am absolutely assured that he is not a case of a matter of days here or even a couple of weeks.
“We’re looking at a longer term, at least a month, I think he’ll be out for, maybe longer, which is a massive blow for Arsenal.”

Which games will Kai Havertz miss for Arsenal during his injury lay-off?
As Mokbel suggested, a definitive timeline for Havertz’s injury hasn’t been established yet.
However, with the player not likely to be back for ‘at least a month’, Arsenal can begin making plans for how to tackle the fixtures ahead, without their focal point striker.
The Gunners have a difficult set of opponents to face within the next four weeks, and Gyokeres won’t be able to play every minute.
That likely means one of Trossard or Merino, or potentially even Gabriel Martinelli, will be given minutes as a centre-forward.

Havertz will definitely miss the clashes with Leeds and Liverpool this month.
Not only will he be absent for the trip to Anfield, but he’ll also likely not feature in games against Manchester City and Newcastle in September, as well as an encounter with Nottingham Forest and the Gunners’ first Champions League game of the campaign.
