Arsenal have had all sorts of problems with injuries this season.
The Gunners have had multiple players sidelined at different stages of the campaign. We’re in December and Mikel Arteta is yet to have a fully fit squad available at his disposal – he has had one problem or another all campaign.
Arsenal’s luck has not been great at all, and it looks like that misfortune has struck one of their loan players too.
One Gunners-owned player is now set for a long spell on the sidelines.
Marco Silva shares update on Arsenal loanee Reiss Nelson’s injury
Reiss Nelson joined Fulham on loan from Arsenal on transfer deadline day in the summer.
The Englishman joined Emile Smith Rowe at Craven Cottage and also reunited with other former Gunners like Alex Iwobi and Bernd Leno.
Nelson hasn’t set the stage on fire by any means but has produced a few impressive performances under Marco Silva over the last three months.
Sadly, Nelson went down in a lot of pain during Fulham’s 3-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion earlier in December, and Silva has revealed some bad news on that front.
The Arsenal loanee has suffered a serious hamstring injury, and the Fulham manager has confirmed that he is ‘for sure’ ruled out for 10 weeks.
“Reiss Nelson is going to be longer,” Silva told Fulham’s official website.
“Difficult to say when he’s going to be back, but probably around 10 weeks he’s going to be out, for sure.”

How has Nelson performed since joining Fulham?
Nelson wasn’t brought in by Fulham to be a regular starter, and his numbers show that.
The Englishman has played just 574 minutes of football in all competitions this season. He has started just six games but has directly contributed to three goals – two goals and an assist.
Nelson had earned Silva’s trust and started five Premier League games in a row since the start of November. Fulham lost just one of those fixtures, but sadly, the Arsenal man suffered an injury in his fifth start.
That is a real shame as Nelson was just getting some rhythm. Now, he will be out for over two months, which is a big blow to himself as well as Fulham.
