Arsenal are preparing for the visit of Newcastle United in the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s side know that victory over Eddie Howe’s side at the Emirates Stadium will secure Champions League qualification for next season and all but cement second place.
Stan Kroenke still backs Arteta despite another trophyless season but for the club to really claim further progress has been made this season, they need to finish runners-up in the Premier League.
With doubts over Leandro Trossard’s fitness heading into the clash and Declan Rice suffering from a hamstring strain, it seems that Arsenal have been handed a much-needed fitness boost.

Kai Havertz back in Arsenal training after hamstring surgery
The Gunners have been holding an open training sessions at the Emirates ahead of their clash with Newcastle and Kai Havertz has been spotted training with the first-team squad.
Havertz picked up a hamstring tear whilst on the club’s mid-season break to Dubai but now looks set for some minutes before the end of the season.
It was expected the German forward would miss the entire campaign but Arteta was hopeful on Havertz’s fitness before the recent defeat to Bournemouth.
Mikel Merino has been deputising in Havertz’s absence but is suspended for the visit of the Magpies, therefore the return of the 25-year-old could not come at a better time for Arteta and his team.
Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard also spotted in Arsenal training
In a further boost, Trossard and Rice have also been spotted taking part in full training following injury scares.
Trossard limped off against Liverpool in the second half, whilst Rice missed the game with his hamstring problem. However, journalist Charles Watts has stated both are in the open training session.
Arsenal will be up for the challenge of Newcastle having been defeated in the Carabao Cup semi-final over two legs and suffered a 1-0 at St James’s Park in the league back in November.
Newcastle know how to frustrate the Gunners but having the likes of Havertz and Rice fit and available would give Arteta’s side plenty more options to break down their stubborn rearguard.
