Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp are up there with Arsenal’s greatest players of all time.
The Gunners have been in existence for 140 years, and very few players have had a greater impact than the two legends above.
Henry is still Arsenal’s record goalscorer, while nobody in the club’s history has managed more assists than Bergkamp so far.
The two icons will forever be remembered, but one current Arsenal star has quietly been outperforming both of them – Viktor Gyokeres.
How do you RATE Viktor Gyokeres’ first season at Arsenal👀
Viktor Gyokeres is outshining Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp at Arsenal
Arsenal signed Gyokeres from Sporting CP in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have been in desperate need of a prolific striker for a few years, and Andrea Berta chose the Swede over other options like Benjamin Sesko.
Gyokeres hasn’t set the stage on fire by any means and has come under enormous criticism since he joined the club back in July.
However, an interesting statistic has now emerged that shows people are being too harsh on the former Coventry City man.

Gyokeres has played 32 games for Arsenal so far and has scored 13 goals in all competitions.
In their first 32 appearances, Thierry Henry only managed 11 goals, while Dennis Bergkamp found the net just 10 times after joining the North Londoners. (The Sun)
That definitely doesn’t mean that Gyokeres is anywhere near Henry or Bergkamp’s level, but it definitely tells you that the narrative around him is far from accurate.

How many goals will Viktor Gyokeres end the 2025/26 season with?
Viktor Gyokeres will prove a lot of people wrong at Arsenal
Almost every pundit has been jumping on the Gyokeres criticism train over the last six months.
It was almost like many of them wanted the Swede to fail at Arsenal, but he is on track to make all of those people look silly.
Gyokeres is Arsenal’s top scorer with 13 goals so far, and if his form continues until the end of the season, he will cross the 20-goal mark.
That would be a magnificent achievement for a striker in his first-ever season in the Premier League.
Up next for Arsenal is a tough game against Brentford. We expect Gyokeres to start, and it will be interesting to see how he will fare.
