Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus recalled the progress the team made during their break in Dubai in the wake of their 0-0 draw with Manchester City.
Arsenal have been in incredible form since their return from their mid-season trip.
Mikel Arteta took his Arsenal squad to a training camp in Dubai in early January, off the back of a poor run of form. In the preceding weeks the Gunners had lost back-to-back Premier League games against West Ham United and Fulham before being dumped out of the FA Cup at the hands of Liverpool.
Upon their return from the Gulf state, the north London club put together a sensational run of statement wins. A streak of eight consecutive Premier League triumphs included a number of eye-catching results, including winning 5-0 v Crystal Palace, 3-1 v Liverpool, 6-0 v West Ham United, 5-0 v Burnley, 4-1 v Newcastle, and 6-0 v Sheffield United.
This domestic winning streak only came to an end on Sunday as they ground out a goalless draw against Manchester City. The Gunners produced a defensive masterclass against the reigning champions, earning their first Premier League point at the Etihad Stadium since 2016.
In this clash, Arsenal were able to end a streak of Manchester City’s too, as Pep Guardiola’s side failed to find the back of the net in a home match for the first time in 58 games.

Gabriel Jesus opens up about Arsenal trip to Dubai
Speaking to Stadium Astro in the wake of that match against his former club, Gabriel Jesus said, “we just improve all the time, trying to improve. I think the time in Dubai was amazing, because we can train some specific, like, things. Normally you can’t have time…so it was good, and I think it’s paying off now.”
“If you want to beat them [Man City], you have to suffer sometimes. I have been here many years, I know what I’m talking about…when you have the ball, you have to be confident and have a personality to try to create something and then win the game. When you don’t have the ball you have to defend with your life.”

Arsenal still face huge challenge to win Premier League title
David Ornstein recently provided a greater insight into what Arsenal got up to in their time in Dubai. What is abundantly clear though is that the trip had a profoundly positive effect on the squad and afforded them a vital opportunity to rest, recharge, and reset.
If the Gunners are to go on to be crowned Premier League champions this season then that trip will be looked back upon as a campaign-defining turning point.
There is still a huge amount to be done before Arsenal can lift any silverware, though. The title race between themselves, Manchester City, and Liverpool is incredibly tight.
Jamie Carragher has now stated how many points he thinks Arsenal will need in order to win the Premier League title and his forecast leaves almost no room for error.
