Arsenal star says he is injured and will not be back in action anytime soon

Arsenal had terrible luck with injuries last season.

The Gunners suffered more fitness issues than any other side in the Premier League apart from Tottenham, but they still managed to win the title.

As much as that should be celebrated, such a long injury list is not a good look, especially when you consider the fact that some players are still injured.

One of them has now shared a worrying update – Jurrien Timber.

🤔 Is Wayne Rooney right that ONLY Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber are the ONLY current Arsenal players making it into this Man Utd team?

Jurrien Timber says he will not be back from injury very soon

Timber had a very interesting season at Arsenal.

In the first half of the campaign, the Dutchman was by far the best right-back in the Premier League and perhaps even the world. He was truly incredible.

Following the turn of the year, Timber’s form dropped a bit, and in April, he suffered an injury that forced him out for almost the remainder of the season.

The former Ajax man did come off the bench in the Champions League final, but it was clear to see that he wasn’t fully fit.

Since then, it has been confirmed that Timber will miss the entirety of the World Cup because his injury has not fully healed.

Now, the defender has broken his silence and claimed that he could be out of action for a while.

He said, as per The Metro: “In about five days, I’m going back to London, where I’ll undergo several tests and see the doctors. I’m just resting for a bit now, before I start rehabilitating.

“The recovery will still take a while. We are going to do scans and draw up a plan together. But I don’t expect to be back very soon.

“In my head, I am immediately thinking about what is to come. That is why I am taking a break now. But at the same time, I am already eager to show how good I am and to take the next step.

“I just want to get healthy again as soon as possible, feel good, and start playing football again.’

Agree or disagree? Jurrien Timber’s only weakness is his crossing

Arsenal cannot rush Jurrien Timber back

It’s fair to say that Arsenal really overused Timber over the last two seasons.

The Holland star had to play almost every game in the 2024/25 season because of Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu’s injuries.

Timber had more chances to rest last season, but he still ended up playing 44 games in all competitions. Some of them he played through pain.

That should act as a lesson for Mikel Arteta, who simply cannot rush Timber back next season under any circumstances.
