Arsenal transfer target Victor Osimhen has lashed out at an agent in extraordinary fashion.

Arsenal have been credited with an interest in signing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian forward’s future has been the subject of much discussion, and speculation over his future has now led to a furious outburst from the player himself.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on X, Osimhen has responded to the agent of Napoli teammate Kvicha Kvaratshkelia, who previously claimed that Osimhen would be joining a club in the Saudi Arabia during the upcoming summer transfer window.

In an expletive-laden and incensed response to this piece of transfer rumour talk, Osimhen branded Kvaratshkelia’s agent a “disgrace” and a “piece of filth”. Osimhen also claimed to be “embarrassed” on the agent’s behalf, and ordered him to keep his name out of his mouth.

This is not the first time that Osimhen has been in the eye of a controversial storm off the pitch. Last year, Napoli removed a video that they had posted on the club’s official TikTok channel which appeared to mock the striker, as reported by ESPN. At the time, Osimhen responded to this video being posted by deleting all images of him wearing the Italian club’s kit from his own social media platforms and threatening legal action.

Can Arsenal still sign Victor Osimhen?

For a long time in the wake of this fall out, Osimhen’s future at Napoli was up in the air as he seemed reluctant to sign a new deal. Around this time, according to Romano, it was felt that Arsenal had a “concrete” chance to secure the 25-year-old’s services for themselves.

However, Osimhen recently agreed a new deal with Napoli, tying up his future until 2026. It will now prove much harder for the Gunners to prise him away from the Naples-based club.

This could prompt Mikel Arteta to focus on alternative targets. Arsenal are in dire need of a truly prolific, elite-level new striker, and if Osimhen can’t be signed then they will need to find someone else who can come to the Emirates Stadium and provide the regular goals that the Gunners are currently sorely lacking.

Missing out on Osimhen would certainly come as a blow, though, as he is one of the most exciting strikers currently plying his trade in any of Europe’s top divisions. Of course, there is still a chance that Arsenal could somehow force a deal for the player over the line, but it would certainly break the bank.
