The next few weeks are going to be crucial in Arsenal’s bid to win the Premier League title but it seems that Mikel Arteta has a confidence that things will keep on improving.

Arteta has looked on in recent weeks as the Gunners have thrown away points and missed out on a golden chance to pull well clear in the title race.

Still, they sit four points above Man City and going into the game with Leeds this weekend, know they have a great chance to get back to winning ways.

Furthermore, Arsenal also have players coming back to form and fitness and according to The Independent, it is one of those returning players who the Gunners see as vital.

Why Arsenal believe Kai Havertz can win them the Premier League

Kai Havertz’s return to football has been well received by everyone connected with the club.

We saw in just 45 minutes in midweek how effective the German can be and he very much feels like a new signing, something the club clearly feel as well.

Writing about Arsenal’s plans for the next few months, Miguel Delaney touches on just where Mikel Arteta sees his squad right now.

And one key element for Arteta and the team in general is the return of Kai Havertz.

“If Arteta does want to shake things up, that may happen this weekend. The Norwegian has been visibly struggling in duels, but Leeds are all about duels, which is where Mikel Merino may come in. Kai Havertz is also viewed as transformative, just for how his pressing gets Arsenal playing much higher,” Delaney writes.

“Kai Havertz is viewed as completely transformative. Both for his qualities and also I’ve said this before I think he said to more almost more than anyone else and certainly more than any other attacker he really gets and internalises how Arteta wants to press and even the way Havertz moves, it means Arsenal play much higher up the pitch.”

What Mikel Arteta has said about Kai Havertz playing against Leeds

It will be very interesting to see what Mikel Arteta does this weekend with his starting XI.

With games coming thick and fast, the Gunners boss knows that some form of rotation will be needed to ensure success.

That means big decisions around players like Havertz.

However, speaking after the win in midweek, Arteta revealed that Havertz will be expecting to play.

“He’s fine, that’s what we planned [coming off at half-time], 45 minutes.

“We wanted to start him as well so he could do all the process before that in the best possible way, and from now on we have to make a decision whether he starts or not in these competitions. For sure, he wanted to continue playing today so I know what is coming tomorrow!”

Clearly, this is a big call.

But with a win needed, it would be no surprise whatsoever to see Havertz back in the XI.
