Arsenal are planning a change to their transfer strategy and will begin that change with a move for Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon.

Gordon has been mentioned as an Arsenal target for a while now but at around £100m, it has always been seen as a difficult deal to do.

However, it now appears that Arsenal are ready to pull the trigger with a summer bid for Gordon.

If you could sign ONLY ONE of Tonali, Livramento, or Gordon for Arsenal, who are you taking and why?

Arsenal prepared to make bid to sign Anthony Gordon

Newcastle could be in for a tumultuous summer themselves and they risk losing the likes of Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and now, Gordon.

According to reports from Football Transfers, Arsenal have now decided that Gordon is going to be their man and they are plotting a big summer move for the winger.

The Gunners are said to be focussing on a slight shift in transfer strategy that would see them build the team around young English players.

That would see the likes of Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Gordon and more involved in Mikel Arteta’s new way of thinking.

Of course, Newcastle will drive a hard bargain for Gordon and are likely to demand big money.

Furthermore, Tino Livramento remains on Arsenal’s radar, which adds another name to the English core being looked at by the Gunners.

Arsenal could end up decimating Newcastle’s squad

There is a real chance here that we see Arsenal spend a fortune on adding players from Newcastle and essentially ruining the Magpies’ own chances of any success.

Of course, some might argue that Arsenal will be funding a rebuild at St James’ Park but realistically, Arsenal can make life hard for the Toon.

If the Gunners go and get Gordon and Livramento, and then follow up on their interest in Sandro Tonali, then we are looking at three huge players for Newcastle moving to London Colney.

Clearly, Arsenal will have money to spend after a successful season and Mikel Arteta will be keen to keep the cogs turning at The Emirates by adding fresh faces.

Come the summer, we could end up hearing a lot more of Arsenal and Newcastle.
