Arsenal’s 3-0 victory over Real Madrid has injected new life into their season following the disappointment of the Premier League title race.
Mikel Arteta rested players against Everton in preparation for the Champions League clash with Real Madrid and that decision paid off as Declan Rice and Mikel Merino inspired the Gunners to a crucial win.
Ian Wright has told Arteta to rotate against Brentford in order for the likes of Bukayo Saka and Thomas Partey to be fully prepared for the battle at the Bernabeu.
However, Arsenal’s dominance over Real Madrid could lead to one major problem in the transfer market as the Gunners exposed Carlo Ancelotti’s side in a number of different areas.

Real Madrid to step up Martin Zubimendi pursuit following Eduardo Camavinga’s Arsenal display
Eduardo Camavinga saw red before the final whistle during the clash at the Emirates Stadium and as per Spanish outlet Eldesmarque, his performance could cause Madrid to step up interest in Martin Zubimendi.
Camavinga was exposed in midfield as he struggled to live with the dynamism of Arteta’s side and was often found wanting in his positioning in front of the Real Madrid back four.
Real Madrid’s interest in Zubimendi is concrete and Eldesmarque now believe that the performance of Camavinga has even further highlighted the need to strengthen in midfield.
With Luka Modric coming to the end of his career and former Gunner Dani Ceballos inconsistent in his performances, Ancelotti is looking for a player to help Aurelien Tchouameni at the heart of his midfield.
The Spanish outlet states: “Real Sociedad are resigned to losing Zubimendi,” whether that is to North London or Madrid remains to be seen in the summer.
Arsenal fans not keen on Zubimendi
The feeling around some Arsenal fans is that Zubimendi is not high on their wish list this summer as Andrea Berta begins his recruitment work.
Arsenal fans prefer Adam Wharton over the signing of the Spaniard and also want other areas of the team addressed first.

With performances like the one against Real Madrid and having been one of Arteta’s most consistent performers this season, there are some calls for current midfielder Partey to be given a new contract at the club.
It is shaping up to be an important summer window at the club but there is still plenty to play for before attentions turn to incomings and outgoings.
