Arsene Wenger completely disagrees with what Mikel Arteta said after PSG beat Arsenal in the Champions League

Arsenal’s dream of winning the Champions League this season is over.

The Gunners have been one of the best sides in the competition this term, and they have picked up a few memorable wins, most notably against Real Madrid in the quarter-finals.

Arsenal lost their first leg against PSG in the semi-final at the Emirates, but there was hope that they could turn things around in Paris.

Sadly, that wasn’t possible, even though Mikel Arteta and many others felt that the North Londoners were the better side in both legs.

Arsene Wenger, however, has a different opinion.

Arsene Wenger disagrees with Mikel Arteta’s claim about Arsenal and PSG

Arsenal completely dominated PSG in the first 20 minutes of the second leg.

The Gunners were all over the hosts – nobody has been able to do that to PSG, especially at home, since the start of this season.

However, Arsenal failed to convert their chances, and that cost them the game.

After the defeat, Arteta claimed that Arsenal were better than PSG over the two legs, and many fans are in agreement with him.

But, Wenger is not on the same page.

The legendary Frenchman watched both games, and he felt that PSG deserved the win because Arsenal never really put them in danger in either game.

He told beIN Sports: “Overall, in the two games, you would say they (PSG) were better than Arsenal, had more chances and were never really in danger.

“So, congratulations to Paris Saint-Germain.”

Who is right – Wenger or Arteta?

Arsene Wenger is arguably the most knowledgeable person on the planet when it comes to football.

The Frenchman’s understanding of the game is better than almost everyone else, and he rarely ever misses his mark when he’s making a point.

But, we think his comments about Arsenal and PSG are wrong.

The former Arsenal boss claimed that PSG ‘were never really in danger’, but that’s not true, is it? The Gunners could’ve scored three times in the first eight minutes of the game on Wednesday night.

The fact that Gianluigi Donnarumma was the Man of the Match in both legs tells you that PSG were in a lot of danger and their goalkeeper saved them multiple times.

Arsenal just weren’t clinical enough, and that is the reason why they lost, despite being the better team for large parts of both legs.
