Arsene Wenger thinks Man City were ‘much better’ than Liverpool

The former Arsenal boss believes that Man City were ‘much better’ technically than Liverpool during the Premier League clash.

Wenger thinks Liverpool just looked tired at the Etihad and lacked belief, which could prove to be fatal for them in the title race.

Speaking during the interval, Wenger told BeIN SPORTS: “We didn’t see a lot of Liverpool; they looked tired from the last game we saw them play against Madrid, no energy.

“Even spirit-wise, you couldn’t feel that the second goal, for me, is a good example that they lack commitment a bit.

“Arne Slot has a job to do at half-time, but they have to do something strong and come out with more belief.”

“City were the dominant team, much better technically in small spaces, they were much more subtle, and Liverpool didn’t create enough.”

In the aftermath of the defeat, Slot admitted Liverpool face an uphill battle to get back in the title race, having fallen well adrift of the Gunners.

On the other hand, Guardiola seemed confident that his team are firmly back in the title race and believes they proved a point to Mikel Arteta’s side.
