The Emirates is preparing to host a Premier League blockbuster as Arsenal battle Liverpool on match day nine.

Mikel Arteta’s side will have to put on a show to get the better of Arne Slot’s squad, who will arrive in North London top of the table.

At this moment, Arsenal sit three points behind Manchester City and four points behind Liverpool in the title race, emphasising the importance of a win on Sunday afternoon.

The prospect of falling even further behind the two clubs would be a nightmare for Arteta, who is dreaming of delivering silverware to N5 this campaign.

Arsenal can send a message to the Premier League by beating Liverpool

Arteta will be hoping that his side can put on a show against Liverpool, with a thought to redemption after suffering defeat to Bournemouth.

The Cherries handed the Gunners their first loss of the season and their first defeat in over six months in the Premier League.

Arsenal have the perfect chance to redeem themselves against Liverpool, who arrive at the Emirates in full confidence.

Added to the form of Slot’s side, Arsenal have an injury crisis, with a host of key players expected to miss out on the top of the table clash.

A win would remind those in the Premier League not to rule the Gunners out of anything just yet, despite falling behind City and Liverpool as a result of their defeat to Bournemouth.

Liverpool have made history this season

A win is absolutely necessary but won’t come easy, as Slot has made quite the first impression at Anfield.

The Reds have made history with their start to the season, something that Arsenal will have to dismantle if they are to keep the three points at the Emirates.

For the first time in Liverpool’s history, the Merseyside giants have won 11 of their opening 12 games in all competitions, as well as being incredibly strong on the road.

Another first is their current winning streak away from home, winning their first six away games in all competitions, with Arsenal up next.

For those reasons and the issue of injuries and absences, there’s good reason to believe that Liverpool will arrive in N5 as the favourites, something that could play to Arteta’s advantage.

Arsenal simply have to win, giving the manager the opportunity to test his adaptability and remind everyone of the strength of his ambitious squad.
