Arsenal secured a professional victory over Burnley at the Emirates yesterday, in a game which saw Bukayo Saka make Premier League history for the club.

The 22-year-old has been sensational since his breakthrough into the first team four years ago, and is arguably the best player at the club.

His output has reached new levels in the last few seasons, and he has now racked up 14 goals and assists in 17 games this season.

Although he did not score against Burnley, he provided the assist for Leandro Trossard’s opener on the stroke of half-time, as Saka rose to loop a perfect header for the Belgian to force into the back of the net.

Saka makes Premier League history for Arsenal

Saka’s assist was not only significant in terms of the game, as it handed Arsenal the lead against a stubborn Burnley defence, but it was his first goal or assist against Burnley in the Premier League.

As revealed by data guru Harvey Downes, this meant that Saka is the first player in Arsenal’s Premier League history to score or assist against every opponent he has faced.

Saka has come up against 24 different teams during his time in the Premier League. Until yesterday, Burnley was the only one he had failed to score or assist against, in six appearances against the Clarets.

Burnley and Leicester are the only two teams Saka has not scored against, but he now has one assist against yesterday’s opponents and has notched up two against Leicester in six games.

Saka has scored three goals against Manchester United, making them his favourite opponents in terms of goals, whilst he also has three assists against them in eight appearances.

The England star has assisted four goals against Everton, making them his favourite team to provide assists against, and he also has five goals and assists against Southampton.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have been the victims of four goals and assists each from Saka, as he has routinely helped beat Arsenal’s main London rivals.

Saka will soon come up against his 25th Premier League opponent when Arsenal face Luton Town for the first time since their promotion, and he will hope to continue this incredible record.
