Arsenal have been without star player Bukayo Saka for almost three months now, but it appears the winger may be nearing a return.
The Gunners’ Premier League title charge has simmered out without their talisman, although they remain alive and kicking in the Champions League.
PSV were thrashed 7-1 by Arsenal on Wednesday night, essentially securing Mikel Arteta’s team a place in the quarter-final of Europe’s elite competition.
Saka is expected to be available for that stage, alongside Gabriel Martinelli, giving the North Londoners a real opportunity to fight for major silverware this season.

Bukayo Saka receives heartfelt injury message amid Arsenal return
Saka sustained a serious hamstring injury back in December against Crystal Palace, leaving Arsenal without their best player for several months.
However, with the run-in approaching, it appears the Englishman is close to returning to action.
The wide forward may be in contention to face Fulham after the international break in a few weeks, in what would be a significant boost for Arteta’s team.
Posting on Instagram, Saka shared a heartfelt note he’d received from a school to his story, which wished him a speedy recovery from his set-back.

The Hale End graduate responded by saying, ‘thank you’, followed by a heart emoji.
While not explicitly alluding to his return in this message, it certainly seems to indicate that he may not be a million miles away from finally plying his trade on the pitch once again.
Bukayo Saka’s statistics for Arsenal this season
Saka is by far and away Arsenal’s most productive and important player, and the data reflects this.
Contributing to 15 goals in 16 Premier League games prior to his injury, the 23-year-old does more than just add value in the final third.
| Saka’s Serie A Statistics 2024/25 | |
| Appearances | 16 |
| Goals | 5 |
| Assists | 10 |
| Shots per 90 | 3.19 |
| Key Passes per 90 | 2.98 |
| Successful Take-ons per 90 | 2.34 |
| Progressive Carries per 90 | 5.11 |
While he takes and creates shots at a prolific rate, as shown by his shooting and key passing metrics above, Saka is also essential to Arsenal’s ball progression.
The England international has the ability to receive the ball on the half-way line, pin and turn his marker, and drive up the pitch with an aggressive ball carry.
This carrying is pivotal in getting Arteta’s side into the final third, and they’ve undoubtedly lost this facet to their game in Saka’s absence.
