Arsenal have announced that Bukayo Saka has signed a new five-year contract with the club.

Saka confirmed his new deal after scoring against Wolves in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw at Molineux.

Less than 24 hours later, the Gunners have announced his contract with a heartwarming video, including fans worldwide and his own Arsenal teammates.

It’s been a tough season for Saka, but he’s eyeing glory in the near future, as he confirmed when reacting to signing his new deal.

Bukayo Saka reacts to signing his new Arsenal contract

Saka is now Arsenal’s highest-paid player, seeing his salary rise to £300k-a-week upon putting pen to paper on his new deal.

For all that the academy graduate has done on and off the pitch over the years, it’s thoroughly deserved, but it’ll be even more so when he gets his hands on silverware.

That’s exactly what Saka is eyeing, as he told Arsenal’s official website after committing his future to the Gunners.

“When I reflect at the end of my career, I want to be able to look back and see a kid that started aged seven, eight years old on trial for Arsenal and then went the whole way to win every trophy that there is available to win,” he said.

“That’s the legacy that I want to create, and when I reflect at the end of my career, that’s what I want to see. That would make me happy.”

It would make Arsenal fans very happy, too, as it’s been a joy to watch the boyhood Arsenal fan rise from Hale End to the first team.

Admittedly, the timing of the announcement was the injection of positivity that Arsenal fans needed after the abysmal draw against Wolves.

It was an incredible way for Arsenal to announce Saka’s deal, as fans shared their love for the winger.

It’s very easy to get frustrated at players when things go wrong and results are disappointing, but the Saka contract video only hammered home what an incredible impact he’s had at Arsenal.

The 24-year-old has truly inspired the next generation, carrying his heart on his sleeve when it comes to representing his boyhood club.

Loyalty in today’s game is hard to find, but as one fan said in the video, Saka could be this generation’s Mr Arsenal, and the Gunners must cherish that.
